Biostatistics Talk & Student Discussion

When: 1 PM – 2 PM, February 1st, 2021

What: A few organizations that support Women in the Math department (AWM, SWIMM and SURE) will co-host a research seminar on biostatistics by Loni Philip Tabb (Drexel University) followed by a half-hour informal “fireside chat” discussion for students to talk to Dr. Phillip Tabb.

Women in Computing Day

What: Every year, AWC hosts an outreach event in the spring in order to introduce middle school-aged girls to the world of computing. This year, we are holding a t-shirt design contest as well as asking for volunteers!

First meeting!

When: Tuesday, January 23rd at 6:00pm

Where: McBryde Hall room 110

What: Come learn who we are and what we do at the Association for Women in Computing! With our mission being that we want to promote gender equality in computing, we have so many different ways for our members to grow, learn, network, and volunteer. This meeting will talk about what we have in store for the upcoming semester. Learn about our all-female hackathon, our 20th annual Women in Computing Day, and all the meetings and social events we have for the semester. Lastly, come learn about fractals and some women empowerment trivia while getting to know your fellow women and allies in computing!

Note: Bring your computers/devices and chargers so you can participate in the programming activities!
